2. Stockbridge, MA: Nestled in Western MA's Berkshire Mountains, Stockbridge is perfect for a fall weekend getaway. Stockbridge is packed with fun things to do. At just under 3 hours from New York City, Stockbridge is close enough for a fall weekend trip that feels worlds away from the city.
3. Essex, CT: What could be more exciting than enjoying the wonders of fall from a historic steam train? The Essex Station railroad attraction offers leaf peeping train rides aboard their historic steam locomotive. Essex also offers numerous shops and restaurants in a cozy and quaint New England setting. At just over 2 hours from New York City, you can easily drive to Essex, CT and back in a day, or make a weekend of it!
